mASF post by "Gibletpie" posted on: mASF forum: General Discussion newsgroup, December 12, 2004Cocky & Funny works. When I first started doing it, I went a bit
overboard with it and turned a few chicks off. You have to get the
mix right, and you have to calibrate it to the chick you're talking
to. If it's a really hot chick, one who's used to guys supplicating
to her all the time, C&F sends the right message very quickly. It
says, "I'm not intimidated by you. I'm not here to kiss your ass.
I'm here to have some fun." I consider it a fun kind of neghit.
I used the, "What are you, like 4 feet tall without those heels on?"
line on a really hot chick and she instantly opened up. Started
talking about how when she was younger, all the guys in her
neighborhood called her "midget" because she was so short. She was
really smiling. See, something like this takes girls back to when
they were young--not quite the hotties they are today--and all the
older boys they had crushes on would tease them about little things.
The guys she wanted to impress. (Another turn around on this I've
found is to give an off-hand compliment to a chick about something she
probably got teased about as a kid. Like, I was opened by this HB8
one night. She had about 3 Cindy-Crawford-style moles/beauty marks on
her cheek. After good opening convo, qualifying, etc. when we were in
rapport-building, I said, "I like your moles. That's kinda cute."
She grinned, sort of embarrassed and said when she was young, all the
boys called her, "connect-the-dots." It takes her to the same place,
but in a slightly different way. You have to have perceived value
before using it this way, though.)
Another chick, this one a 10, stripper at a top club in Vegas, I did
merciless C&F on. Told her I wasn't getting any dances off her. Sent
the message that she'd have to WORK to impress me. She'd ask me "what
do you do?" I'd throw out, "I'm a greeter at Wal-mart." Laugh. "No
really, what do you do?" "I'm a male stripper. My stage name is
Marlboro." Five times. Five different answers.
She's like, "You're cocky! You are a hottie, though." Eventually, I
transitioned into rapport. I'm like, "Uh-oh, that's the first
straight answer I've given you! What's that mean?" She sat and
talked with me for 2 and a half hours and I never gave her a dime.
She started asking me what I look for in a woman. I gave her about 3
physical qualities first. She's like, "I've got that... Got that..."
Counting them off on her fingers. When I said, "Down to earth," she
goes off on this 5 minute rant about, "Oh! I'm SO down to earth!
Always in jeans, t-shirts, blah, blah, blah..." If you've never had a
10 acting like an AFC, just totally sucking up to you, it's a JAW
DROPPING experience! Totally shifts your perspective. Kiss closed
her in the club. I told her when I walked out the door she'd never
see me again. She made me promise to come in and see her the next
night, like practically crying. So, of course, I didn't. I figured
I'd wait about a week. Unfortunately, I haven't run into her again
yet. LOL.
That's an extreme example, but it's calibrated to the chick. Now I
usually go for light C&F. Like the 10 wearing a Hustler T-shirt. I
asked her, "So do you think Larry Flynt is sexy, or do you just read
Hustler for the articles?" It's funny, and it's cocky and slightly
negging because I'm not acknowledging in any way that she's sexy.
She's wearing the Hustler shirt because she wants to draw attention to
that fact. It's sort of implied cocky.
The shit actually works if you know when and how to use it. Usually,
I'll approach a chick, and about 30 seconds in when she notices I'm
not nervous and supplicating (or whatever the fuck she notices), I'll
get that thing where her eyes get wide and she turns to face me
completely. I've got her full attention. I think TD calls that the
"Hook" in one of his old posts (though I think the term originally
came from Style or somebody). At that exact moment, I'll hit her with
a C&F line. Just to drive the point home. It's like boxing. I see
her guard slip and I fire right at that moment. It opens her up quick
and sets a good first impression. After that, I don't worry too much
about C&F. I'm just playful. If it's a second meet I might throw in
another one at the beginning just to remind her.
It's easy to misunderstand the tonality when you READ it rather than
HEAR it. Just be playful with it and it works wonders.
