Personally, most things that I do are because I want to do them. I guess your
post confused me in that it talks about a "problem" rather than what it is that
you want. Some would consider that semantics, but thinking more on what you'd
like to do, or create, might lead you to answering all this for yourself.
I'm not going to say that doing things to learn skills is foolproof, I still
don't follow through on my thoughts at times. To me it's the best option,
because otherwise all I'd do is waste days getting mere opinions. You know
though, what works for them might not for me. Ultimately, taking action is
knowledge; actual ability runs counter to common institutional learning.

Good that's fine, so what have you tried? One of the best statements I've ever
heard from David DeAngelo was his comment about how he'll try anything to
learn. Of course, to really do that you have to be somewhat indifferent to the
outcome.
To me everything you're saying points to a fear of screwing up, if so then
that's probably what you need to risk. I say this because I know that I need to
get out there and make more mistakes so that I'll learn faster. I think Bradley
Fenton wrote a good enough book about the basics of being indifferent. Of
course, much of it is merely having the confidence to ask a woman if she's
singe, same as suggested in DYD advanced.
If you still somehow think reading will help you I highly recommend stuff by
