Dude, I think you need some perspective. Tyler Durden could arrange a PUA
gathering in an hour. Wow. Why do you think that might be? Do you think one
could conclude that, if TD could set it up with minimal organization, anyone
on this board could? Not everyone on this board has the contacts you do. Not
everyone could literally call up the top ten guys on this board on speed
dial and get almost anyone of them to wing with him on any given night.
For some guys, probably for a lot of guys, saving up their money and taking
a big trip to hang out with the Net PUA community and meet legendary guys
like you is a big deal for them. So they get all excited about this big
meetup in Austin, maybe even buy plane tickets with a 90 day advance
purchase so they can afford it on their income from their job as a
salesclerk at the mall, and then find out that some guy changed it to LA
because he just moved there and that's where his new supercool PUA friends
live. That's hard.
Personally, I don't find any of this surprising. When they first announced
the 04 summit and said how big of an event it was going to be and how many
people were coming, I was skeptical. I know how PUAs are (flighty) and I
know how hard it is to pin down guys to anything solid like that, so I
didn't get my hopes up. In fact, I actually posted that I would surprised if
it actually went off as planned, so I guess I was right. As usual.
To me, the move to LA sounds like a positive one that is more likely to get
people from that area involved. I might even be interested in going. But I'm
still waiting to see how it pans out. Usually the best things in this
community happen on the spur of the moment. That's just the way guys like us
operate. We make big promises, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we
will follow through with actions. It all depends on how we feel at the time.
