mASF post by "Style" posted on: mASF forum: Tactics / Techniques Discussion, January 1, 2003It's so stupid. I logged in today and caught up on the forum because I
wanted to post a gold technique that I don't think anyone's mentioned
before (I could be wrong), but it is something Mystery does and
there's such a crazy backlash here right now that I almost just didn't
do it so that I wouldn't get flamed or something. But fuck it.
(For what little it is worth, I am upset to see all these gripes
against people's FRs from his workshop, maybe it's just because I know
them and spent time with them and really like them and saw their game
change. Besides, they get pushed into more approaches than they ever
have on these nights out, so it's worth a FR---it's in the field. But
I do agree with the contention that the POINT of FRs is to LEARN from
someone else's experience. So a FR saying "a night out with Mystery
changed my life" and nothing else is the same as all the other reports
saying "I opened a girl in a bar and got laid last night" without the
details. So what's my point? I guess my point is that, for me, my
"coming out" on this forum was through a Mystery Method workshop field
report that I wrote. It led to me meeting Swinggcat and RJ and so many
other great people, and if such posts were discouraged at the time I'd
be MILES behind in my game and probably lurking too.)
Okay, rant over....
A lot of people who approach group sets, and ignore/neg the target and
focus on the obstacles and CBs have this problem: Sometimes the target
wanders off and leaves.
This does not have to happen.
Here's the solution: WEAR PROPS. These can be sunglasses, hats,
feather boas, Hawaiian lays, whatever. When you approach the group,
you simply put a prop on the target. (If you want, say, "Let's see
what that looks like on you.") Or you give her something to hold. Then
she's stuck there, and you can ignore her as long as you want. It's
like putting a BOOKMARK on a girl, as if to say, "I'll get to you
later." Then you can convey all the personality you want to her
friends, and she'll be around to hear it. And if she's a SHB you can neg, shut her out from her own group with your body language, etc.,
and she's stuck there.
Just don't forget to collect your prop at the end, LOL!
Make sense, or should I elaborate?
