mASF post by "Scorpius" posted on: mASF forum: General Discussion newsgroup, March 3, 2005Alright, I'm going to add some context and detail to my original post in this
thread.
I was at a meeting of the Toronto lair last Sunday. There were a few guys there
who were just starting out.
They started talking about taking a sheet of paper out in the middle of the
club - to make or write notes on.
As Tyler said in his message, I meant this thread to be specifically about winging with guys who are more skilled than you are.
And more specifically, my post was aimed at people who are new to the scene.
It's good to wing with guys who you're great friends with, as ijjji has stated.
It is not mandatory to wing with other guys in the community who are more
experienced than you. It can't hurt though.
If a guy starts reading his pickup-artist notes in the middle of a club, it
looks bad. A guy who does that, and other things like that, is probably going
to be excluded a lot of the time when community guys get together.
I can extract girls, and lots of the newer guys can't hold a conversation. I've
been pretty generous about helping people out. And Requiem knight says that
most of his wings aren't anywhere near his level.
Most people are not altruistic though.
There are some good suggestions in this thread for ways in which people can
subtly "offer value".
