mASF post by "breakbeat" posted on: mASF forum: General Discussion newsgroup, December 12, 2002this partially comes from the 'seiwert method' (nope, seiwert is not a seduction guru. he's a time management guru).
set at most seven activities to engage in your life. this should cover
everything you do, including, for instance, keeping house and making
plans.
set goals for each of these seven areas. to do that, imagine the
situations you will come by in these areas of your life, then imagine
what it will take from you to be successful in each of these areas.
then, train yourself!
examples from my own life
i will be in club engaging a group of HBs. in this situation, it will
take from me that i know what to say, know how to present myself, and
radiate positive energy. to do this, i will draw confidence from the
little things, work on my voice, work on material to present,
meditate.
i will be in a boxing ring facing a well-trained opponent. in this
situation, it will take from me a well trained body, ability to keep
my cover up, good leg work, good hooks/jabs/etc., good balange, good
endurance.
any pain you don't inflict upon yourself while you're training will be
a lot worse when the challenging situation arises. the pain of taking
blows is a lot worse than the pain in my neck muscles training to keep
my cover up. the pain of not knowing what to say in front of HBs is a
lot worse than learning new material rather than watching tv.
pain is unavodaidable; you inflict in on yourself in well planned
doses and grow; or you can wait for other people to inflict in on you
and shatter. no life without challenges.
