thought about it a bit..
I worry that Tony might be thinking a bit emotionally, rather
than logically.
The point is this. ASF exists to teach/learn/exchange how
to PU chicks. It is also the ONLY reason my website exists
(I actually made my website for *me*, so that I can organize
my notes, and thoughts and refer to them as necessary. I
share it with everyone by newsposts not only because it is
practically no effort and costs me next to nothing to do
so, but it also lets me get feedback from readers/posters
like NYC, Shade, and others, which ultimately helps me to
my only goal.. improving PU).
Now the point is that pickupguide.com» gets ripped off too.
But...so what? How the fuck is that related to PU? I figure
the worst that can happen by it getting ripped off is that
more people find ASF, and we get even better information here
than before.
I mean fuck, strictly speaking, in the early days, Tony's
layguidewas a "ripoff" of pickupguide.com,» because a ton of
the early stuff on it was copied DIRECTLY from my site. He
copied articles right off the links, mined the "goodposts"
zip file on my site (among other places), and started his
page from there..
But guess what? I didn't care,... in fact I WELCOME IT!!..
And I encouraged Tony, because rather than feeling that his site
was a ripoff and direct competition of mine (which I could
have thought, if that interested me at all, but it doesn't
since it is IRRELAVENT to helping me lay chicks, which is
why I am here), I saw that it might help exchange information,
and encourage more people to find ASF, and learn/exchange useful
stuff, which in the end, helps me in my PU effort..which is
the only reason I am here. So I linked it to my page, archived
it in my "gallery" during the long downtime early this year, and
ENCOURAGED people to go visit his page on this NG, and in my own
site.
Now since that time, Tony made alot of effort and built a nice
page, (which in many respects is bigger, and more complete than
mine), so it is getting ripped off and he is upset about it. But
so what? How in the fuck is that even SLIGHTLY related to PU?
(except in maybe the positive aspect that more people will
find ASF). If Tony is in this only for the money, then it is a
problem.
If Tony is jealous that people might make money off it and
he's not, well then its a problem, maybe at an emotional level
only though.. (sounds like chick logic, humm, got to try that
on the next chick ;-) )
It is better to not get jealous though, and stick to the goal,
PU. I mean, my hits went up like double since his page went
down. Think I am happy? Nope.. Why? Because getting page hits
does NOT get me laid. And information sharing is reduced.. this
is bad..bad for me, bad for everyone..
So if Tony just wants to exchange PU tips and encourage the
expansion of the wealth of information, I can't for the life of
me see what the problem is of people ripping off the page.
I offered to host that page, and any other good PU page
for FREE, so there are no expenses and no costs for Tony
or anyone to put up a page on the net.. NONE. So any excuses of
making pages "pay pages" to "cover expenses" is TOTAL bullshit.
We can debate the issues, but please, here on ASF, lets be
at least honest about them and call things for what they really
care when discussing this. Costs/Expenses of the running
Tony's (or any other) PU pages are NOT the issue at all..
Finally, lets look at this the other way, ANYTHING of value on
the web is going to get ripped off.. there is NO fucking way to
stop it.. because in the end..information wants to be free..
So forget it, there is NO WAY to win.. the Chinese government
cant control the flow of information, and neither can Tony's
layguide..or pickupguide.com» either. and not only that, all
that bullshit takes time away from PU.. I don't even bother
to fight it.. it is a TOTAL waste of time.
Right now the situation is that the ONLY way to find the
stuff on Tony's page is to pay the $15, have the hassle, or
go to the zillions of free ripoff sites and see it there..
What do you think most people will do? ... I mean, what
the fuck point is that, the cat is already out of the bag,
for both pickupguide, and layguideripoffs are all over
the fucking place.. so best to forget it I figure, not to be
jealous, and focus on PU, which is why all these pages
got built in the first place (I hope ;-) ).
Now Tony can do what he wants, and I respect him, and what he
decides to do. But at this point, he's really got two choices.
If he is genuinly interested in PU, then he'll put the page
the way as before, and if money is a problem, then he can
put the whole site on my page in '/layguide' and it won't cost
him anything. He can send me a zip file once every few months
with updates, and I will install it for him.
And if his real aim is to make money, then he will do the
banners, or memberships, or whatever, but then now he
is in the same league as all the others running pay sites off
of stuff that is really not their own material (its from ASF
posters, other websites or whereever). His site is organized
well, and adds value, so that is fine, but that is in the end
what it is. In that case though, since he has taken the "money"
route versus the PU route, then running banner ads is better than
memberships, as otherwise, no one will pay the membership, they
will just go to the ripoff sites of his page that are free.
So it is up to Tony to decide whether he is in this for the
PU effort, or for the money.. then he'll know what to do..
I think his page is good enough that it is worth $15 to see
it. But on the other hand, whether the stuff on there is really
his, and therefore if taking money makes him any different from
all the other pay sex/PU compilation/ripoff pages on the net, and
violates the spirit of freely exchanging information on ASF/free
websites is another issue, which is for Tony to consider.
Depends whether the $$$ or PU route is more important I guess,
and also his financial/personal situation, which in a former USSR
republic, I imagine could be quite rough.
Either way this goes, be grateful at least it was free for 6
months, as it is a very good page, and Tony did make an excellent
effort at it, which I respect (and respect him) highly, no matter
what happens from here on out.
