If you re-read what the hobbel guy wrote, you'll see that he didn't actually
set anything up and his notion of standing a girl up was in his fantasy. Pay
attention to what he said to her, how she reacted & tooled him a bit, and
you'll see that his belief is that he stood a girl up on some set date, her
belief (closer to reality) is she got a call from a guy she could easily tool
who set up a non-date that he was going to "call her back" about wussy-style.
There was no date to stand up. In fact, even if he succeeded in setting up a
"date", she would have likely flaked on him. Therefore, his issue is not
having "stood up" a non-date but rather following through trying to set
something up with a chick in a somewhat pathetic way. It's probably better,
given the circumstances, that he didn't call her back on Tuesday. Then he can
call back and if she asks him which Pete he is he can always act like it's the
first time he ever called her - she can either take it seriously (if she was
serious about that line of questioning) in which case he's fine or she can take
it as a joke which displays that he's not concerned about little shit and not
calling her (to which he will not refer to and pretend never happened) was a
punishment for her past bullshit phone demeanor.
