Improving Attractiveness, Revision 2
PREFACE
Some of you may remember my initial "improving attractiveness" thread. Over some
spaced freetime I've managed to pull in more suggestions, ideas, personal
thoughts, and mail recieved into a new revision.
In general, ASF teaches us how to change ourselves from the inside, gearing our
mind into making ourselves attractive and capable at getting women. I agree that
this IS the most importaint step anyone can make toward being a PUA. However,
just because the engine truly drives the car, doesn't mean fixing that minor
dent in the fender is a bad thing. I'm just going to list some of the things
people "can" do to help improve their outer appearance. Going zealous one way or
another can still get you laid, afterall, prettyboys get laid from time to time
even without SS skills. And even the ugliest SS'er can occasionally bag an HB.
Still, this is no reason to neglect yourself, when helping create the total
package is so simple. So don't come off flaming me about how "looks arent
everything" and to read maniac's "iranian from hell" story. I "know" looks
aren't everything, but improving them will NEVER hurt your situation, just like
you can only gain by improving your SS skills.
Be the best you can be.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Body:
A: Face
Improving on the face is obviously an essential part to improving
attractiveness. Now yes, some of us may be blessed with spotless beauty and not
a problem in the world. However, for the rest of us, I'll give some basic ways
to improve on the face, and rid yourself of minor problems. Quick, dirty, but it
gets the job done.
Blackheads:
Usually appearing mostly on the nose, or just below the chin, this is basically
caused by dirt and oil trapped in pores. Honestly I wish I could say there was a
simple product to solve this, but the truth is, pore strips and face masks do a
very lousy job at actually removing the things. Left alone, they can get quite
unsightly over time.
Solution:
The best way I have found to get rid of these, also happens to be perhaps the
oldest. Get a rag wet with steaming hot water (very hot), and place it on the
problem area to open pores. After a 20 second or so stretch of that, use your
fingers and STRONGLY squeeze at different points. You have to endure slight
discomfort through this, but you will see the dirt coming out, wipe away with
toilet paper etc. Depending on the amount and placement on your face, this is
usually a 2-5 minute fix. Due to the pressure involved you will have some
reddness where you did this (rubbing/squeezing), which usually lasts from 5
minutes to an hour. A small price to pay to get rid of this minor blemish.
Acne:
I'm sure we've all met someone who appears ready to erupt at the slightest
pressure to their face. Face it, it's unattractive, you want a clear complexion.
Solution:
If your acne is light, chances are it is just simple acne. In this case get an
acne "mask" and use it regularly (wipe on peel-off type deal). Also keep your
face clean etc, a little effort and you wont have any problems. If your acne is
moderate to serious, it's quite possible it isn't acne at all. Honestly, see a
doctor in this instance, these problems can be cleared up but some require
perscription medicine for ailments that aren't acne in the first place. I know a
doctors visit might be a bit of an expense, but it's worth it if you come out
with a clear complexion.
Teeth:
Ask most american girls what they look for in a man, and alot of times your
going to hear about a good smile, white teeth. I grew up on tea, drinking it
literally since the bottle. This stained my teeth an unpleasant shade of yellow
and I found it unattractive. I tried alot of different things and find only a
few different things will actually effect the coloring. Don't waste money on
whitening gels, they don't work. Anyway, here is a few simple solutions to the
common problem.
Solution:
Obviously first off would be a dentist visit. You pay them, they use some high
powered hydrogen peroxide on your teeth, and you leave whiter. It's an expensive
option, but on the plus side, it does tend to have a good positive effect.
Your second option which works comparibly, is simple garden variety clorox
bleach. I do recognize the fact that bleach is poisonous, but only when ingested
in considerable quantity. In fact, bleach is often used on wellwater to kill off
bacteria, and is drank in small amounts regularly. I am NOT asking you to drink
bleach here, or even to place any quantity inside your mouth. With that said,
heres how you whiten with basic clorox.
Grab the bleach and pour some into the cap. Grab a white (NOT COLORED) rag and
get a portion of it wet with the bleach. Now simply press this against your
teeth, rub it from side to side, etc. 5-15 minutes of this (depending) and your
teeth will be very white. When done, brush them several times and rinse well to
clear out any leftover bleach. Simple, cheap, quick, and it saves you a trip to
a dentist. And no, your teeth wont evaporate, implode, spontaneously combust, or
be eaten away. That said, also DON'T try to swig-swish a mouthful of bleach to
gain a similar effect. Bleach is very vomit inducing, and this is just plain
stupid. Always remember, brush regularly.
Other assorted minor blemishes/darkness under eyes:
Most all of us have some minor blemish at some time or another. I admit to
having a very very clear complexion, but I still suffer from occasional redness
or a dark ring under the eyes thanks to some otherwise great long nights. There
are several ways to deal with these problems, but most take some time (for
instance, cucumber slices over the eyes to rid black rings). This said, there is
one simple and quick solution to most any minor blemish or redness on the face,
one most men would jump back and act disgusted when mentioned. Thats right,
makeup.
Now no, I'm not suggesting you go out wearing blue eye shadow and passion pink
lipstick (unless thats what floats your boat). I'm saying you simply use a small
amount of base, to make it appear as though you wouldn't need makeup. Just look
at the difference makeup can make on a woman, it can be good for you too, as
long as you don't LOOK like your wearing any. To this end, the only makeup you
should ever try to use, is a liquid NON-SHINE base. Preferably a non-oil base.
It comes in a variety of skin tones, find one that matches you best. A little
around the nose to clear up redness, a dab under the eyes, a tiny bit to cover
up that bruise where your forhead slammed into the headboard the previous night
with a woman. A tiny bit, just a smudge on a fingertip is plenty. This also
means that one small bottle will last a LONG time, so it's not like your
constantly buying cosmetics from a store. No, it's not for everyone, but a
little bit of base can usually do alot to improve your appearance. If nothing
else, I find it makes you appear brighter, more awake, etc. Give it a shot and
you may very well find it alot less frightening then you previously thought.
The Body:
B: Hair
Decide on a hairstyle, that fits you and your surroundings. That done, I suggest
going to a reputable salon in your area. Yes, it will lighten your wallet a bit,
but think of it this way. Either you get your head whacked at a cost cutters, or
you get your wallet whacked at a quality salon. I'd rather have good looking
hair and a few less dollars given a choice like that.
In my situation (I sell cars in an area with a very large wealthy retired
population), I am forced to keep a respectable hair style. Hence I personally
had them give me a pierce brosman (the newest bond) style haircut. Easy to
manage, fairly short, and it looks good and dressy. Works well with my italian
black hair and features, as well as my clothes style. On the same note due to
the area I live in, I gear myself toward attracting the daughters of old rich
guy/money grubbing younger wife unions of years past. These types of girls are
very common out here, and are usually in the age 18-24 range, and MANY are 8-9's
(aka, fuckable). Overall it makes up for the slight lack of a large young
population, by having a topheavy HB market. Hence, I look like the young up and
comer, with an air of mystery, money, and confidence sweating off me. Works well
with my PU style for this mountain town.
If you are frequenting the party/club scene, you may consider going with
something wild to attract attention or at least keep yourself interesting. This
all depends on the type of woman your attempting to attract of course. Still, in
this situation you may do better with something wacky like a metalic blue short
spiked hair style then you would with a more dressy or traditional. It's all
relative to what your going for.
If you need to gain ideas for decent hair styles, look to television, movies,
and general people around town. Tell the hair stylist exactly what you want, if
their worth their price you'll leave looking great. I wanted to have a similar
style to brosman, I brought a picture as an example, and thats exactly what I
left with. Don't just leave things to chance, get what you want. If they don't
think they can do it, go elsewhere.
The Body:
C: Physical
Over the last year I've went from a scrawny 6'1" at around 125-130 pounds, to a
respectable 164 pounds. I put on alot of muscle, and I no longer look like a
clothes rack. I can't even explain how much better you feel for yourself after
you've managed to build a better physical body. It increases confidence, drive,
and overall faith in yourself. I feel I've done well, giving myself a good
looking body without overdoing it (IE, becoming a musclebound freak of nature).
I'm not saying what I've got going is for everyone, many people do well with the
"teddy bear" look. Still, for those of you finding yourself unpleasantly thin or
hefty, here are my suggestions.
If your decidedly overweight, I'd say the first thing you need to do is actually
look at what you eat any given day. Write it down if you have to. Many people
simply don't realize just how much they intake until they've seen it on paper.
Cut that diet down, and do alot of aerobics (fast, fat burning action, light
weight usage, etc). There are several fat blocking suppliments you could try,
but I would suggest you look into overall effects of use before diving into
them. A determined outlook to fix the problem, a little time, and you will lose
weight. Keep things down to 2-3 meals in any given day, perhaps try slimfast (I
watched a coworker drop 40 pounds using slimfast over several months, it was
amazing).
If your overly skinny, you simply have to overcome that metabolism, then use
that excess protein intelligently. First off, go out and get yourself a set of
freeweights, barbells and such. A good set will usually run you about 100$ at a
store. Don't waste your time buying alot of wacky machines that promise miracle
results, freeweights do better on almost every instance. Now, get yourself on a
high protein diet. I'm not talking any small amount, up your intake to 5-6 meals
a day, use a protein meal replacer if necessary to fill in for a meal. I also
suggest trying creatine (a suppliment, look into it and decide if it's what you
want, it works really well). Look into getting muscle-building literature, but
just for reference, here is basically what you have to do to get those muscles
growing.
Concentrate on one part of the body each workout. Only work a body muscle group
once in a week (for instance, lower body, upper body, certain portions, etc).
Use the most weight you can actually lift/move at the time, and only do 7-10
reps with it (if your using the right weight, this will be very difficult). This
will stimulate growth without overworking, is quick, and is easy. If you attempt
to use numerous quick reps with a lighter weight, you will actually tend to lose
more muscle mass then gain. What you have will be stronger and much more
lean/mean/fast, but it'll be alot less to look at (sort of like some high end
martial artists, good strength speed and power, but they still look like clothes
racks). Spend 20 minutes working different portions of the body area you are
concentrating on, spread different body areas workouts through the week. Very
quickly you will notice a difference, and it takes very minimal work to do such
low "growth stimulating" iron pumping sets. I combined this with creatine,
spaced my workouts during the week, and did very well. Overall this will
maxamize growth quickly, giving you a good looking muscular build (to whatever
extent your shooting for) in a very short amount of time. Only downside is all
the protein you down will inevetably put more fat onto your bones along with the
muscle you build. Simply deal with this by changing to a more aerobic routine
after you've hit about where you want to be. Fast light weight high rep use,
martial arts moves, quick situps, anything that gets you moving quickly and
burning fat. This will make you more of a rock, and less rounded off at the
edges. If you do this for even a month you will notice a definate difference,
give it 2-3 and your going to be amazed, 6-12 and you wont recognize yourself.
Building a great body is well worth it, and makes getting a females approval of
you far easier. If she blows you off, her loss, she blew a chance at a damned
good ride.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Style:
A: Clothing
Some may say, you are what you eat. I say your also what you wear. Dressing
right will often push a person up several notches in the looks category. Simply
look at the results of a good makeover for an example, often times it can be
almost unbelieveable.
Since were talking clothes lets start from the bottom up. One thing many women
notice are shoes. Sure, those 1989 nike air high-tops are comfortable, but they
don't exactly make a good impression (outside of grunge band concerts anyway).
Get yourself a good pair of shoes, something that looks decent, something you
wouldn't go hiking through 8 inches of mud in. I find shoes that look good and
expensive tend to make decent impressions, and will gain a compliment from time
to time. They dont have to be bank breaking, just get something that gives your
foot some class, get the shoe that screams PUA. Obviously you want to coordinate
this with the rest of your "style", but if your similar to me, a good dark
semi-dressy shoe works well.
Moving right along, socks. No, socks aren't all that importaint, but I do want
to make one quick note. If you were going out in darker clothing, wear a darker
sock. Greys, blacks, browns, anything that isn't bargain basement white. Just
keeps you more coordinated in general.
Next up, underwear. Someone made a good point of this in the last attractiveness
thread. Stripping down for a woman to your white froot of the looms you've had
since christmas '88 is an embarassment to men everywhere. Go out, get some
calvin klein's (or something similar). Yes, they are a bit pricey for underwear,
and if this is an issue just buy a few pair and wear them on your PU nights.
Now lets get into the gut of your wardrobe, the pants and shirts. This really
depends on your overall intention of style. Grab yourself some "stylish"
clothing catalog and look at what the people in there are wearing, also look
toward people on television, movies, etc. If your still at a loss, go out and
see what others are wearing. In short, find what would work best on you thats
somewhat current. Heres an example of something I'm often out and about in.Some
kind of dressy/khaki pant (I prefer lighter off-whites, greys), with a long
sleeved darker (grey, black) "pinstriped" shirt (aka, the shirt is black, with
black slightly raised lines going down it). I use the throwover variety, no
buttons (some versions of this kind of shirt have buttons up near the neck,
which reminds me too much of golfing shirts, so I go with non-buttoned). I use a
dark leather belt with it, but thats entirely optional of course. I live up in a
colder climate on this mountain, hence long sleeve is basically accepted year
round. really like the types of shirts I described there. They are a little
dressy, yet laid back. Good enough tucked or loose, and they tend to cling
enough to show off physique (better then most shirts you will find). Good all
year round up here, feels comfortable, and looks fine. The whole look goes well
with my italian features and jet black hair, as well as my semi-dressy shoes,
loose-professional out on the town.
On a sidenote, if you do the clubbing scene you may want to consider something
more flashy. I personally have a few "clubbing" outfits I keep in my closet for
party nights. As someone said in the last thread, buy a couple good club outfits
and you can mix/match enough to keep yourself different.
I can't tell you exactly how to dress, but those are some suggestions to
consider. Find the style that best suits you and run with it. If your not sure,
ask someone in the "know" what they think would be best.
Style:
B: Accessories
Sunglasses. Get yourself a good pair. I pesonally wear a nice pair of oak's, but
you can find good pairs in any given mall for 10$ or less. I suggest something
thin and light, so for the love of god dont go out and pick up some massive
"unibomber" style. Don't write off a pair till you've tried them on and looked
at yourself, you'd be suprised how good some of the strangest sets look once
thrown on.
My eyes are particularly sensitive to bright light, so I tend to wear sunglasses
around alot. Sunglasses have odd effects on your appearance, try some on and
look at yourself. They add mystery, and give a good overall effect. I would
however take them off when approaching/talking with people/using SS directly.
The reason is they mask emotion in odd ways in removing the eye contact factor,
and I find from experience talking to people with sunglasses on makes them
uncomfortable in general. Hence, I tend to reveal my deep blues when I move in
on someone I have seen, locking in on that trusty left eye as I throw my glasses
into a pocket. So she see's me, I see her, I lock the stare and remove the
glasses, immediately approach (3-5 seconds). I find it works decently. And if
she's acting bitchy etc, I can always pull them back out and throw em back on
with a "pleasure meeting you" (or whatever is suited for the situation). Done
with the right attitude it's a borderline neg/insult. Kindof a "nope, she's not
worthy".
Style:
C: Scent
First off lets discuss cologne. A good cologne is an attractant in itself. The
light scent occasionally dances across your prospective's nose, and it only adds
to you overall (especially with appropriate pattern or poem, sensing a fragrance
in the air, seeing the one who will take you there). I wear cologne almost
everywhere I go, it's something most men don't do, and it sets you apart.
My personal favorite cologne is Obsession (a calvin klein cologne). It has a
really good and light scent, and plays off the nose well. It will stay with you
for an evening, and it will remain light the whole time, barely there leaving
them wanting more. Yes, it is expensive (over 50$ a bottle), but you don't use
much at any given time (a few light sprays, NOT bathing in it), so it lasts a
long time. Honestly, I recommend it, try it out and I think you'll agree. I tend
to get a "lot" of comments about it when I'm out and about.
If you can't afford to go with the high-end, settle for something more common.
But beware, often the more common scents tend to radiate really really strongly
off your body. The last thing you want to do is smell like you've been sweating
"Brute" for the last 5 hours. On the same note, you don't want your scent
dissapearing 20 minutes after you leave the house (alcohol based cologne will
usually evaporate rather quickly). Test them out before comiting.
Second thing to mention on scent is BREATH. Guys, carry around some breath
mints. Keep your mouth ready for that potential tonguedown, fresh and pleasantly
scented. I can say from my experience that a woman I move in to kiss who
releases a noxious cloud from their mouth will get me completely turned off
faster then I can back away from the foul scent. If your breath stinks, they are
going to be a lot less likely to want to kiss, or even be near you, simple as
that.
Another interesting thing noted in the last attractiveness posts was herbal
essences shampoo's and conditioners. The scent they leave behind is very light
but pleasant, and the person discussing it suggested using these shampoo's and
conditioners on nights where you are out PU'ing.
Lastly I will discuss something that doesn't really effect everyone, foot odor.
I absolutely can't STAND when someone has skanky smelling feet around me. Get
some dr soles, spray something in there, douse your socks in baking powder, do
whatever you have to do. If your feet stink, stop them from stinking, because
the rest of the world, including me, doesn't want to smell them.
Overall, smelling good will keep you a step ahead of alcohol breath'ed AFC's who
haven't bathed in a month. Done right scent isn't something overwhelmingly
radiating off you, but subtle enough to catch their nose just slightly now and
then, and peak intrest toward you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I hope this post has been helpful to at least some of you. Note that it
was put together in spaced periods of freetime, with alot added from others mail
and replies on the origonal. Nope, this post wont turn you into a pua, but it
just might make you look a little better.
