This is partly in response to a post in the Lifestyle forum on Posture. It is an exercise I have successfully field-tested for three days and has helped me gain some confidence concerning my appearance in public.
Exercise:
Walk straight down the middle of the sidewalk and don't get out of the way for ANYONE, be it a group of HBs, a pack of football dudes, or a mom pushing a stroller.
Make them go around you by exuding dominance with your mind-set (keep repeating words in head) and your alpha body language» (shoulders and elbows).
i found it also helps to assume a mindset of either "ive gotta get some important shit done in 15 mins" or an aggressive one of "im a badass, get the fuck outta my way"
although this was a really difficult exercise for me, especially on the first day, since i kept bitching out and going AROUND groups instead of going THRU them, by the end of the second day and especially by the third day i was able to clearly frame myself before each excursion to class.
It helped me with my posture/ body language», maybe it'll help you.

1. Aggressive/dominant mindset
Before walking somewhere (in my case to and from class), take 10 seconds to relax by repeating the words (calm, cool, sexual) in my mind, then getting ready to walk, by shrugging my shoulders back and making sure my elbows are not against my torso when I walk.
