I had fun over the weekend which ended in a huge club party with six bands that started at noon and played till midnight.

I watched a lot of guys (and guys in some of the bands too) as they worked the hotties which always gather around the dance floor.

I noticed a real difference in they way some of them got treated ... how the girls responded to them and this is what I deduced from my observations.

Two primary styles of pick up are:

The Hunter ... who zero's in on his prey with fixed eyes and seems ready to pounce.

and ..

The Fisherman ... who sets out bait and whomever bites on it gets caught.

I am sure you can see the difference between these two and I am also sure that you can spot them if you go out and watch what other guys do. The main difference between these two is that most women will be "on guard" with a hunter stalking them ... this doesnt mean that she will automatically reject him .. some women get off on being stalked (even though they cannot admit it to anyone) but over all the hunter has had an uphill struggle and it is easy to swoop a girl that a hunter is sarging. (extensively field tested ... and boy do they get mad ). All the way to the end the hunter can and will encounter resistance ... fear .. rules .. tests ... bla bla bla ..

but ..

The fisherman .. being a true fisherman .. doesn't even pay attention until he feels that tug on his pole. She has to tug on his line and .. trigger .. a reaction to her input. In other words ... the fisherman will illicit natural behavior that looks like the girl is making the first move .. Then he can respond with skill and good preperation ... but if the fish gets away ... or gets tangled in someone elses line ... the experienced fisherman knows that getting angry and fighting about the lost fish doesnt catch a fish ... he needs to get his bait out again and wait for another hungry fish.

This metaphore teaches me and reminds me how to stay calm and not get into the mindset (frame) of being like the hunter. I am a fisherman in the game and remain relaxed but aware ...

and always ready for a tug on my pole.
