A short anecdote about what happened with Zardoz – who is a great wing btw –
and HBAnna's Thetic.
She invited us out for dinner. She likes to brag a lot. She keeps talking about how
this guy is in love with her and that guy. How a drunk guy wanted to sleep with her
and how she told him she would "not allow" him to make any "life altering decisions"
while he was drunk (he's got a girlfriend). How they spent the next two days getting
high and "cuddling", blah blah.
All I am thinking is LSE Freak! She is cute but she is so desperate for male validation
she is going to social proof herself and feed us this shit AFTER inviting us out for
dinner. I found it funny... the more SEXUAL she would get, I would say in a totally
non-jealous way "that's fucking HOT!". She gave up
Afterwards, I said, I want to go to Mike's and shoot some pool. She starts with the
"I hate Mike's. I hate pool. Mike's sucks. Are you really going to Mike's? I am tired,
I want to go home and relax. Mike's is just not my kind of place."
So we get to the corner where it's either Mike's or up the hill to our houses and I
lean in, KISS HER ON THE CHEEK, and say "have a good night sweetie". Her eyes go
wide open and she says "wha? But I ahhh ummm".
Joseph, with a backturn simultaneous with grabbing her arm: Come on! One game,
then you can go home and be lame (or something like that)
She came and shot pool with us and had a great time, laughing, teasing, etc.
The moral of this story is this: In AFC days, I would have responded to her commentary
about Mike's with SUPPLICATION. In rAFC days, I would start busting on her and/or
QUALIFYING Mike's as a cool spot. Now, I am like, so what? Why should I give a flying
fuck? Yes, I would LIKE her to come with me, but if she really doesn't want to, it ain't
no big deal.
David Clare said, if her idea is better than yours, go with it! Otherwise, forget it.
So for example, if she had said, "lookit Joseph, I am really tired, why don't you come to my
place and I'll fix you something to eat while I run a bath", then yes, I would probably agree
to that. Or "Joseph, come home with me!" with all the sexual subcomm, then I would go with
it.
The thing is, not giving a shit what she really thinks, the option she is presenting me sounds
COMPLETELY BORING compared to shooting pool. Yes, she is cute, yes she probably likes me,
but what she is asking is not in my interests. It's got nothing to do with trying to please ME.
Therefore, I know that saying, "umm, ok, if you're tired I will go with you", in this case WILL NOT
WORK.
I ended up going back to her place with her after.
Do what you want to do in your life, seriously. Don't let women veer you from what you want to
do, even if it's something "trivial" like shoot pool. It will not work to attract them, in fact it will
repel them, and you'll miss out on some great billiards, too
