This brings us to where we are now ...
I am now jamming on open mic nights ... it is exactly like when I started sarging sets in the field ..
1) I break into cold sweats
.. and because it resembles my early days in Pick uP and sarging so much , I thought it might help some of you less experienced guys to know that the process .. along with all the ups and downs .. is the same for learning any skill you might want to master.
.. and since I have been playing my harp in public nearly two whole months now (I know .. long time huh) I can tell you that I am spinning in a wirlwind of scattered and disjoint cells of information that is as confusing as it can get ... but I know that if I just keep going out there and doing it ... I will condition myself to quickly switch back to a neutral state when the dreaded ten things try to happen to me .. because I know from there I can generate my PU skills to bridge from the stage to the target audience ...

Recently I started playing a harmonica. January I think ... and I really sucked back then. I was sarging pretty hard and and putting a lot of effort into figuring out what things to teach my nephew to help his game and one day he said "well you play that stupid harp , is it getting you laid ?" ... after the fight , I thought .. maybe the little fucker was right and so I started putting more time and effort into learning about music , I had been in a band a long time ago and new a little but with the internet now available I have so much more information to digest.
2) I forget the first words of the songs right when they start
3) I feel like a race horse , in the gate , waiting for the bell
4) I suplicate to other players for acceptance (ouch)
5) I am building a collection of bad performences
6) I feel 'pangs' of embarrassment when I fuck up even one note (and die on a string of them)
7) I am humbled by kind words from those players who I respect
8) I get mad at anything that tries to interfere with me being onstage and playing
9) I think I have a ton of songs right up to the time I get on stage .. then I seem to have only one or two (like WTF ? )
10) I have once again gotten in over my head and I know it
