I once had a karate instructor who used to say the following:

"Fights are rarely won with leaping, flying, spinning moves. That stuff looks great, but it's the basics that win fights."

Same with PU. You'll never really need anything beyond your basic skill set to get laid a lot. Your basic skill set includes:

- Your attitude. Fun, easy-going, flirty, confident.
- Your opener. The universal opener. "Hi".
- Your smile. The outward sign of your attitude.

When you give a girl a nice smile, and a confident "hi", she can feel your attitude. That's what people mean when they say "vibe". An attitude or mindset that other people can feel.

Nashvilleplayboy once wrote something like, "a competent approach raises your value, not lowers it." I think NVP's right. The above points are the most basic elements of a competent approach. Good attitude as reflected by good smile and good greeting. That's it.

- Your look. Notice I said, "look", and not, "looks." Look neat and clean. Wear clothes that fit you.
- Your posture. This also says a lot about your attitude. Carry yourself well.
-Kino. This is the magic escalation portal. Kino is how you bridge the gap between standing there talking, and making out.
-Closing. If your kino is outstanding and she really likes you, there's a good chance you can pull same-day (or night). If you go for contacts, use a phrase like, "let's echange numbers," which makes you sound like less of a beggar than, "can I have your number?"

There it is. Those are the basics as I see them. They're all I need, and I think they're all anybody needs.
