I have some more ideas and would love to share them with mASF. Feel free to comment, criticize, or question.

The main theme is still the same. Change the way you look at the world and you'll be free. Once you come to realize that you can alter and control your perspective, growth and success is limitless.

First you must accept that it is possible. This is tough. Most of our lives we don't question the way we view things. Do you remember when you found out that Santa wasn't real? I do. I cried. All of those years I had been fooled into believing in something, and when he was no longer there, I was lost. Thank god we've developed these powerful brains that comprehend the idea of perspective.

Another version of the truth.

Here is a funny story to illustrate just how powerful and tough it is to alter our perspectives:

My father is a big health nut. He takes countless vitamins everyday. When he goes on vacation, he has a separate suitcase just for supplements. He reads books and does a lot of research.

For the longest time he's been on the entire family about vitamin D. "We live in Canada, we don't get enough sunlight! You must take vitamin D supplements to get enough!" So not only does he think that we aren't getting enough, but he also thinks it is some kind of miracle drug. This may or may not be true, that's not the point of this story.

So my mother isn't buying any of this propaganda, she doesn't take any vit D supplements. I've told my father that we are of northern European ancestry, and perhaps we've evolved to not need as much vit D as say some tribesman in Africa. Anyway my mom went to get her blood tested. The results came back, and according to the tests, her vit D levels were fine! Even though she doesn't take supplements! My father has been telling her that Canadians are so deficient that we need to take supplements, and now his reality was in doubt.

First he thought that they must have screwed up the test. Then he thought that the lab's "acceptable levels" weren't up to the current research. He was trying to think of any excuse he could, not matter how irrational it was. He just couldn't fathom that maybe we didn't need to take a million units of vit D a day!

The point is, because he had spent years taking supplements and reading up on vit D deficiency, he could never accept that he might be wrong.

My father is like many of us on here in that way. You'd spent your entire life getting certain results with a certain set of beliefs, and you just assume that its just the only way. Maybe there is no truth. Maybe there are just different versions of the truth.

So this is the first step to empowering yourself. The first step is not learning as many pickup lines as possible.

Okay now that we've had that refresher from the last thread, I'm going to add a few new ideas I have.

Social Interactions Are Purposeless
We really need to move away from the view that we are trying to get something out of social interactions. When you feel the need to "take something", this will always affect your behavior, negatively.

Instead of going to talk to those girls to pick them up and to try to have sex with them, just talk to them for the hell of it.

Change the attitude from:

-I'll talk to this girl so I can eventually fuck her
to
-I'll talk to this girl because it's fun and I love flirting!

Just go with the flow. Life is chaotic, crazy things happen, you can't control everything. Just let go and let life take you where it desires.

Maybe, once you start flirting and teasing this girl, you guys totally hit it off, and she's in your bed with her heels in the air half an hour later. Or maybe you're still at the bar chatting with her. It doesn't matter. Either way you're having a good time, and that's all that really matters.

Think about it for a second. The most glorious moments in your life come when you find complete happiness.

Perspective 1: I want sex
Perspective 2: Sex happens, I'll enjoy it when I get there!

During the past little while I did a celibacy challenge. I still tried to have a social life and hangout with my friends, but I didn't have sex for a month. I was really trying to move away getting pleasure from others, and instead being a source of pleasure.

Don't get me wrong, I love sex. It wasn't until I had terrible sex until I really knew why I loved it so much (I have a LR on this, check the archives). Sex is so amazing because you have two people who are completely in the moment enjoying themselves, they've let go of all the personas and bullshit and social masks. It's beautiful.

So if social interactions are pointless, then what's the point you ask!

What's the point of life? I don't believe in heaven or hell, this is all I have. I'm just having a good time and enjoying my time here. One day it will all end, and I'll have many scars and stories.

So have social interactions because they are fun and we are social creatures.

Perspective 1: Who the fuck is this guy? Why is he talking to my girl!? Time to AMOG him!

Perspective 2: Maybe this guy is cool. I'll help him pickup chicks.

Become A Source Of Pleasure

Create your own happiness. When you become a source of pleasure, people will love being around you. Be fun and outgoing and help people connect.

P1: Once I get a fast car, make tons of money, and have a hot girl on my arm, I'll finally be happy!

P2: Life is beautiful

Most of us on this messageboard live in first world countries and have pretty easy lives. We don't have to worry about starving or having no healthcare, the biggest problems in our lives is that hour long flight delay.

Think about how easy your life is for a minute. My ancestors came on a boat from Ireland. They crossed the Atlantic, then once they got to the country the had to somehow make it almost all the way across Canada. Jesus I hope it wasn't winter.

Life is easy. Don't be a victim.

Do Your Own Thing

Live your own life. Do what YOU want. On one hand you have to take responsibility for your actions, but at the same time you have to accept that shit happens and you can't control everything. That girl didn't call you back? Oh well, maybe its just not meant to be.

You live your own life, and you'll gladly invite other cool people to join you for the ride, but you're still fine going solo.

A comment from the last thread that I didn't address:

My behavior changed the minute I decided that I wasn't satisfied with my life and I was going to change it. In the end I can give all the advice in the world and talk out of my ass and claim that what I say is the word of god, but in the end, the only person that will change your life is yourself.

I have been changing ever since I decided to improve my life. It's not like there is a single point where everything just clicked and I turned into the person I am now. There have been many different levels, and I'm sure there are many more to come! Getting on the plane and going to NZ was another level, but it's not like I've arrived at my destination so to speak.

Keep it cool fellas
