Checking out some of these boards and hanging out in PUA.chat, I've noticed a bit of a phenomenon. There is a big population of guys who have read a TON of PU material and let it all go to their head. The wrong way.
Some guys assume that just because they've read tons of crap, they are some sort of PU expert. They'll assume that just because they've known about PU for X amount of time and read Y amount of ebooks, they know all there is to know.
But they're still scared shitless when it comes to actually applying this stuff. I've talked to a couple guys recently with really terrible AA, and a lot of it stems from the fact that they've read too much material and give themselves really high expectations for themselves that their skill levels aren't capable of meeting.
So I'd like to remind you all of something: You are what you do, not what you read.
Specifically, your skillset is what you consistently apply in field, not what you've read.
All that garbage you've read but never applied? Well. You don't know it. You've just heard of it. It's not really part of your PU skillset.
You could have read every ebook in the world, but if you're not approaching, then you're just a guy who doesn't approach. You could have read tons of tactics, but if you don't apply any and just eject early, you're a guy who is not doing so well.
Get what I'm saying?
So all you guys suffering from information overload. I hereby absolve you of the burden of that junk in your head. All the stuff you've read but never tried... it doesn't count. It doesn't exist. Don't expect yourself to live up to the all the shit you've read.
Recognize that your skillset is just the stuff you are consistently applying in field. Recognize that the most important PU resource is you and what you are doing in field. Recognize that the most direct path to improvement is increasing your skillset until you've got a seduction toolbox that will consistently take you from meet to lay, NOT devouring method after method after method. Recognize that you're not going to get any better until you get out there and start trying stuff.
The most useful PU information out there is the information that addresses your current biggest SPs. The rest is just a distraction. Be objective about what you are capable of, so you can be focused in improving where you need it the most.
Arguably, this post belongs in beginners, but the guys it's directed to are probably reading general anyway.
